The National Orthopaedic Hospital, Lagos (NOHIL) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the 2018 Staff Vacancies at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Lagos.

About National Orthopaedic Hospital, Lagos (NOHIL):  

The school is situated at National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi which is located along the ever busy motorway (Ikorodu Road) in Lagos. After recognition by the Colonial Medical Services in 1945, it became a Medical establishment known as Igbobi Orthopaedic Hospital. In name, the hospital has undergone a metamorphosis from Igbobi Hospital to royal Orthopaedic Hospital and now National Orthopaedic Hospital. The hospital, between 1945 and 1977 was at various times under the administration of the Federal Government and Lagos State Government. It has however remained a federal Government health institution since 1977 to date. The hospital can accommodate up to 450 patients. In the early days, the sphere of influence of the hospital extended to other parts of the West African Sub-region, Central Africa and Angola. During the same period the hospital was a repository of materials and resources for students.

Consultants Staff Vacacies

1. CONSULTANT ORTHOPAEDIC (SPINE) SURGEON (Ref: COSS/001/17) Salary – CONMESS 05

2. CONSUTLANT ORTHOPAEDIC (ONCOLOGIST) SURGEON) (Ref: COOS/002/017) Salary – CONMESS 05

Qualification:

Candidates must possess MBBS, Part II Final Examinations Certificate of the Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or the West African College of Surgeons or its equivalent in Orthopaedic Surgery. Candidates must also possess the NYSC Discharge Certificate and Current Practicing Licence.

In addition, candidates must have three (3) months post-fellowship experience in Oncology and a minimum of two (2) recognized relevant courses. Candidates must also be a member of relevant Associations and must have been practicing in a recognized institution.

3. CONSULTANT ORTHOPAEDIC (PAEDIATRICS) SURGEON (Ref: COPS/003/017) Salary – CONMESS 05

Qualification:

Candidates must possess MBBS, Part II Final Examinations Certificate of the Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or the West African College of Surgeons or its equivalent in Orthopaedic Surgery. Candidates must also possess the NYSC Discharge Certificate and Current Practicing Licence.

In addition, candidates must have six (6) months post-fellowship experience in Paediatric Orthopaedics and a minimum of two (2) recognized relevant courses. Candidates must also be a member of relevant Associations and must have been practicing in a recognized institution.

4. CONSULTANT ORTHOPAEDIC/TRAUMATOLOGY SURGEON (Ref: COS/004/17) Salary - CONMESS 5

Qualification:

Candidates must possess MBBS, Part II Final Examinations Certificate of the Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or the West African College of Surgeons or its equivalent in Orthopaedic Surgery. Candidates must also possess the NYSC Discharge Certificate and Current Practicing Licence.

CONDITION OF SERVICE

The conditions of service including the fringe benefits are as applicable in the Federal Public Service.

1. SENIOR HEALTH ATTENDANT (REF: SHA/001/17) Salary – CONHESS 2

Qualification:
Candidates must possess the First School Leaving Certificate and must be able to read and write very well. Please note that Management will not accept request for conversion on this cadre.

2. MOTOR DRIVER (REF: DR/002/17) Salary - CONHESS 2

Qualification:
Candidates must possess the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate (WASSC) with three (3) credits at one sitting or four credits at two (2) sittings and a valid Class “C” Drivers Licence. Possession of the proficiency certificate from the Lagos State Driving Institute or Federal Road Safety Commission will be an added advantage.

Qualification:
Candidates must possess four (4) credits at one sitting or five (5) credits at two sittings including English Language and Mathematics in either the Senior Secondary School Certificate or General Certificate of Education (GCE O/L).
