NUC Approves Creation of Zamfara State University, Talata-Mafara

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the creation of Zamfara State University, Talata-Mafara in Zamfara State to be added among the existing universities in Nigeria.
Follow the approval of the Zamfara State University, a total number of state universities in Nigeria has amounted to 47 and the number of universities in the country to 162.
This approval of the State University in Zamfara was announced by the Executive Secretary of NUC, Abubakar Rasheed during a meeting in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja with the governor of the state, Abdulaziz Yari, and his technical committee.
Mr. Abubakar also noted that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, TETFUND and NYSC had been informed of the creation of the university.
The Zamfara State University will fully resume academic activities for the 2018/2019 academic session soon. Mr. Abubakar added.
