UNN Signs MoU with HAUWEI Chinese ICT Giant

The Management of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) has agreed on signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HUAWEI, a Chinese ICT giant last week Friday.
The V.C, Prof. Benjamin Ozumba, signed on behalf of the university, while Mr. Simon Zhang, the Channel Service Project Manager signed on behalf of Hauwei. In a remark, Prof. Ozumba said the Hauwei Academy Program would benefit both workers and students of the university. “ICT is the backbone of technology and innovations in very part of the world.
Both UNN and Huawei will benefit from the MoU. The university has forty five thousand students. I am optimistic that UNN will live up to the expectations contained in the MoU, ” he said. Ozumba commended the ICT giant for finding the UNN worthy to establish it’s academy; and pledged the support of both staff and students.
“We are establishing our first Huawei academy in UNN; and from here, we will reach other universities in Nigeria. “I thank the VC and university management for their approval of the establishment of the academy in UNN,” he said.
The Senior Solutions Architect Enterprise Marketing & Sales Manager said the academy is the first establishment in any federal Universities in Nigeria, adding that very soon, Huawei would establish an innovative center in UNN. “We can create a technology that will discover talents and make people to think innovatively.
“Huawei Academy programme will help students to kick-start their career by preparing them for work in the ICT industry.
“The academy will also help them to build their knowledge and confidence, develop their ICT skills as well as encourage them to gain globally recognition and get Huawei certificate,” he said.
