US Embassy Nigeria Recruitment 2017- In this article, I will lead you through the methods and requirements to apply for the U.S. Embassy Nigeria Recruitment program.

The US Embassy is currently recruiting for the following position:

Job (Title): Economic & Commercial Assistant, FSN-8/FP-06*

Working Hours: Full-Time: 40 hours/week

Job Description
  • The Economic and Commercial Assistant researches and drafts economic and commercial analysis, maintains relationship between Nigerian economic leaders and offers Commercial Service to U.S. clients and Nigerian businesses within Northern Nigeria.
  • He reports to the Deputy Economic Chief in the Embassy, Abuja and coordinates with the Foreign Commercial Office at the Consulate General, Lagos.
  • The Job description cuts across economic and commercial services.
Job Requirements
Applicants are required to attach supportive and concise details to each of the required information.
  • A B.Sc in Economics, Business Administration or other related studies is required.
  • At least two (2) years relevant experience in economic, commercial or  statistical analysis, business or related fields is required.
  • A Level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Writing/Reading in English is mandatory. Language proficiency will be tested. Level II (Limited knowledge) of Hausa is required.
  • Candidates must have a Knowledge of Nigeria’s economic, political and social system in addition to economic concepts.
  • Candidates should have skills in critically analyzing economic and business discourses.
Note: Applicants should submit a copy of the most recent Member Copy 4 of the DD-214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty in cases where they claim to be U.S. Veteran. If claiming conditional eligibility for U.S. Veterans’ preference, applicants must submit proof of eligibility.

Salary Size
Ordinarily Resident
 – N6,466,256 p.a. (Starting basic salary) Position Grade: FSN-8
Also allowances will be paid in accordance with the Mission Local Compensation Plan.

Not Ordinarily Resident – AEFM – US$47,170 p.a EFM/MOH – US$39,954 (Full-Time Startup Salary) p.a.

Position Grade: FP-06
