The NDDC Skill Acquisition Training Programme was initiated by the Niger Delta Regional Master Plan (NDRDMP) in section 5.7.3 and 5.7.4 following the success of the previous programmes. The NDRDMP was set to addresses policies for economic development in rural and urban areas of the Niger Delta region.
This 2017 NDDC Entrepreneurship Training Programme is totally out of the oil and gas sector. The Niger Delta Development Commission Skill Acquisition Training Programme is up to enhance Micro Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSME) with its main objective to strengthen the economies of the Niger Delta States and help the youths become job creators instead of job seekers. you will also learn how to manage your business not to fail
The Entrepreneurship Training Programme outside the oil and gas sector will be based on:

- Agriculture
- Entertainment and Hospitality
- Commerce and Trade
- Manufacturing and Processing
- Professional Services, among others
NDDC Skill Acquisition Training Programme 2017 are as follows

- Welding and fabrication
- Maritime technology
- Entertainment industry
- Furniture making & wood work
- Catering & confectionary
- Modern printing technology
- Fashion design & tailoring
- Home management (tie & dye)
- Solar power maintenance
- Computer technology/programming
Application procedures for NDDC Skill Acquisition Training Programme 2017/2018
- Just as stated before, all applications will be received online through the NDDC web portal at nddc.gov.ng
- Each applicant is expected to complete just one form only as multiple applications will attract automatic disqualification from the programme
- Application may be submitted on-line between the days of publication to the closing date of online application
- The selection process described in this publication will be extremely rigorous, thorough and competitive

- Applicants must be between the age of 18-35 years
- At least, applicant with school cert or OND etc can apply for the nddc programme
- You are to Scan and upload your recent passport, Local Government Identification Letter
- Applicants must come from Niger delta states
