What is IPPIS

IPPIS Secretariat is a Department under the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation responsible for payment of salaries and wages directly to Government employee’s bank account with appropriate deductions and remittances of 3rd party payments such as; Federal Inland Revenue Service, State Boards of Internal Revenue, National Health Insurance Scheme, National Housing Fund, Pension Fund Administrator, Cooperative Societies, Trade Unions Dues, Association Dues and Bank Loans.

We are committed to efficient and effective service delivery. Our main aim is to pay accurately and on time within statutory and contractual regulations. We aim to provide a payroll service that is customer focused and that utilises technology wherever possible.

There are 459 MDAS on IPPIS Platform as at 31st June, 2017. The department is responsible for processing and payment of salary to over Three hundred thousand (300,000) Federal Government Employees across the 459 MDAs. IPPIS aim is to enrol into the platform, all Federal Government MDAs that draws personnel cost fund from the Consolidated Revenue Fund.

Since inception of the IPPIS project in April 2007, the department have saved the Federal Government of Nigeria billions of Naira by eliminating thousands of ghost workers.

Federal Government online verification for all MDAs Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) is now ongoing. It is now set and done for all MDAs to start Federal Government online verification for all Public Servants in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). The Federal Government has directed Public Servants in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) which will be controlled by the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) to update their record Online.

IPPIS Management

IPPIS Department carries out its functions in collaboration with; the Federal Ministry of Finance, Office of the Head of Service, Civil Service Commission, Office of the Auditor General of the Federation and MDAs that are enrolled on IPPIS.

The Acting Director IPPIS, Mr Olufehinti Joshua (FCA) is responsible for the overall Management of IPPIS Department, reporting to the Accountant-General of the Federation.

• Payment of Salary and Wages to FGN employees
• Deductions of taxes and other third payments
• Remittance of payroll deductions to third party
• Enrolment of employees into IPPIS database

According to Mrs. Winifred the portal would be opened for immediate access by the employees of MDAsthat has already submitted their record such as Departments, Divisions, Sections and Units to the Office of Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. Winifred further stated that the move is to hinged on the successful outcome of the implementation in the office of the Head of the service of the Federation, which is to be reproduced in the rest of the MDAs to clear path for the take off of the HR Module of IPPIS. It included that the MDAs that have not sent their structures to the OHCSF ought to do as such direly.
