FUTA SCREENING POINTS FOR POST UTME EXERCISE 2017/2018

The management of Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has announced the Screening Points for Post UTME exercise for the 2017/2018 session.

Point 1 - SUB Building - Where Parents/Guardians wait for their wards. Directly opposite the SUB is the car park and only the applicants are allowed to go beyond this point.

Point 2 The Gas Station which will be the waiting area for applicants

Point 3 The Sports Centre which will be the coalition centre.

Point 4 Hill Top Auditorium which will be the demonstration Hall.

Point 5 C.C.E. Auditorium is also the biometrics centre.

Pont 6 Digital Resources Centre which is main venue for the screening exercise

After the exercise wards are to meet with their parents/guidance at point 1 (Sub Building)

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA , Professor Joseph Fuwape has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the 2017 Post UTME Screening Exercise which began on the 5th of October and scheduled to end on 10th October, 2017. 

He said thorough screening process was imperative to select the very best amidst so many candidates vying for few available spaces. Fuwape said the aptitude test is designed to evaluate the competence and critical reasoning skills of candidates and to ascertain their level of intelligence. 

The Vice-Chancellor said over 22,000 candidates applied to FUTA, with 13,500 meeting the requirement that qualified them for the ongoing screening exercise. 

He said FUTA’s carrying capacity of 3,500 necessitated the competitive selection process which is designed to ensure the admission of students based strictly on merit. Fuwape affirmed FUTA as a preferred brand and an academic destination of choice and wished the prospective candidates success. 

Corroborating the Vice Chancellor, the Chairman of the University’s Admissions Committee, Professor Olatunde Arayela, reaffirmed that in line with extant tradition the admission process will be merit driven with the adoption of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admission Process System (CAPS) paradigm. 

He said each programme will have its own cut off mark which will be determined by its carrying capacity and only those who meet the cut-off point will be offered admission. One of the candidates, Josiah Babatunde, aspiring to study Architecture, described FUTA as high ranking Institution of higher learning. 

He said the test was smooth, hitch free and conducted in a peaceful and conducive environment.
