Programme Officer Job Recruitment at CARTER OAU

The Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA) is funding an intervention Program to strengthen doctoral training in Population and Public Health at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife. The Program—Intervention towards Strengthening Research Training in OAU (ItSTRETO) aims to institutionalize some of the CARTA innovations in OAU.

This is a collaborative project involving Departments of Demography and Social Statistics, Sociology and Anthropology and Institute of Public Health, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. The ItSRETO project under the CARTA OAU seeks to employ a Program Officer for the project.

Qualification: Applicants must have an advanced degree in either Demography and Social Statistics;  Sociology and anthropology; Public Health or other population/public health-related field from a recognized university. Besides, applicants must have experience in program coordination/ implementations.

Responsibilities: The Program Officer will join the project team to implement the ItSTRETO project in OAU.  S/he will undertake the day-to-day running of the program, coordinates and contributes to training/teaching modules, organizes workshops, tracks and prepares reports on the progress of the project, prepares financial reports to be submitted to funder, and also undertakes other tasks that may be assigned to him/her by the project team. The Program Officer will be encouraged to also conduct research in collaboration with the project team.
