ATBU, Bauchi Postgraduate Admission Form On Sale - 2017/2018

Following the National Universities Commission’s formal approval for the establishment of the Postgraduate School in Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Senate directed that the functions of the Postgraduate Committee, which included enforcing minimum requirements and maintaining standards for Postgraduate studies in the University, be taken over by the Postgraduate School.

Method of Application - Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University PG Programme

All you need to know about applying for postgraduate study or research at SPGS ATBU

Applicants for admission into postgraduate programmes should follow the following method of application:
  1. Interested applicants can obtain the application forms at our Online Portal, on payment of a non-refundable fee of  (₦10,000.00) using either Card or visiting any Remita approved Bank. Completed application forms (can be downloaded from the portal), together with copies of relevant certificates, should be returned to the Secretary, Postgraduate School.  It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that the 3 referee forms are uploaded to the portal and his/her former institution send the confidential reports and academic transcripts respectively directly to the Secretary, Postgraduate School.  The Postgraduate School will then forward the application form of each candidate to the Dean of the relevant School for consideration and recommendation to the Board of Postgraduate School.
  2. Candidates for regular Postgraduate Diploma and Masters Degree Programmes will be considered for admission once in an academic session (normally in October or the beginning of the first semester), while PhD and research candidates will be considered twice in a session (at the beginning of the first and second semesters; normally October and April respectively).
  3. Applications for the first semester postgraduate admission should reach the Postgraduate School not later than 30th July of the same year. Applications for PhD and research admissions received between August and December will be processed against the second semester admission.
  4. The Board of Postgraduate School will normally meet twice in a session to solely consider admissions, while other meetings of the Board would normally be for consideration of other matters connected with the Postgraduate Programmes.
  5. Any request by candidates for change of programme of study, degree in view field of study, etc, must reach the Secretary, Postgraduate School before the last date for submission of completed forms.

Application Steps

  1. Go to http://oaa.flexisaf.com:8080/pgatbu and click “New Application” 
  2. Create your account by filling in your details with your phone number as username and password
  3. You should see Account Created Successfully!” pop up message. Click “OK” to continue
  4. Fill in the phone number used in creating your account as your username and password. Then click on “Log in”
  5. Click on the drop-down “Select Application Type” to choose the program you’re applying for.
  6. If you wish to use your CARD proceed with STEP 5a, else for BANK PAYMENT goto STEP 5b.
  7. FOR CARD PAYMENT Click on the drop-down “Select Payment Method” and choose “MASTERCARD/VISA”. Then tick the check box and click “I accept”.
  8. Click on the “Pay Online” button to proceed to REMITA.
  9. From REMITA select your payment option i.e MASTERCARD/VISA from “How DO YOU WANT TO PAY DROPDOWN” since you wish to use card payment. FIll in your card details and click “SUBMIT”
  10. FOR BANK PAYMENT Click on the drop-down “Select Payment Method” and choose “BANK_BRANCH”. Then tick the check box and click “I accept”.
  11. Click on the “Pay Online” button to proceed to REMITA.
  12. From REMITA select “INTERNETBANKING” from the drop-down “HOW DO YOU WANT TO PAY”, scroll down to choose your bank and then click “SUBMIT”
  13. Print your REMITA generated receipt.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The following are eligible to apply for admission into the various postgraduate programmes of the University.
  • Graduates of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University or other recognized Universities with at least Second Class Honours Degree.
  • Holders of any other qualifications together with relevant field experience as deemed acceptable to the University.
