Kazaure Assures Union Commitment To Welfare - NYSC

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, has sought a peaceful atmosphere for cross fertilization of ideas between the Management and the three Labour Unions in the Scheme in its quest to build a stronger industrial harmony.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the welfare of both Staff and Corps welfare at all times.

Kazaure stated these today during a meeting with the leaders of Labour Unions from all NYSC formations nationwide held at the National Directorate Headquarters, Maitama, Abuja.

He said he would not relent in his efforts towards consolidating on the achievements of past administrations while breaking new grounds.

The Director-General added that there was the need to interact with the staff and also receive feedback on management's policies as they affect them.

He said the sustenance of mutual interactions would smoothen the existing relationship between the Management and the Trade Unions in its efforts to reposition the Scheme for better service delivery.

"l want to reiterate that Management will continue to make the welfare of staff and corps members a top priority within the ambits of the resources at our disposal.

"l shall not rest on my oars in ensuring that l leave a legacy of a well motivated, committed and efficient workforce in all ramifications," Kazaure said.

In her welcome remark, the Director, Human Resource Management, Mrs Comfort Makinde, commended the Director-General for hosting the meeting which was the second of its kind since he assumed duty.

She equally urged the Labour Union Leaders to continue to partner with the Management in the discharge of its statutory obligations.

Representatives of the three Labour Unions in the Scheme, namely, AUPCTRE, ASCSN and NUPSRAW, took turns to commend Kazaure on his labour-friendly disposition and his general leadership style.

Deliberations at the meeting centred on various issues bordering on Scheme of Service, Conditions of service, training of labour leaders, and refresher courses for State Coordinators among others.
