2017 UTME: 10 States With Highest Number Of Registered Candidates

So far so good, the 2017 JAMB registrations for the UTME conducted lately this year has been concluded and closed.
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) through the Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede announced yesterday the total number of candidates registered nationwide for the 2017 UTME examinations.
The total number of candidates registered recorded to 1,736,571 candidates.
He further stated that on the preparations for the conduct of the UTME exam which will commence this Saturday 13th May, 2017, said the number of registered candidates for the 2017 UTME rose by 464,287 compared with the 2016 figure of 1,272,284 candidates.
However, Prof. Ishaq disclosed that;
- Imo state had the highest applications with 101,868 candidates.
- Osun state has 88,655 candidates.
- Oyo statehas 87,811 candidates.
- Ogun followed fourth with 81, 349 candidates.
- Others are Delta state with 81,108.
- Anambra with 77,253;
- Kaduna, 72,104;
- Kano, 70,276;
- Kogi, 70,150 and
- Benue state in tenth position with 68,916 registered candidates.
321 visually impaired candidates registered for the examination and that adequate arrangements had been provided to ensure their effective participation in the examination. - The Registrar said.
Oloyede deemed it fit to assure candidates that necessary machinery has already in place to ensure a hitch-free Computer Based Test examination this session.
He went further to warn candidates to desist from seeking reposting from exam centre assigned to them to another as there would be no rescheduling of examination.
