This is to inform the general public that the management of the University of Ilorin has announced the vacancy for the post of Vice Chancellor which will take effect from 12th October, 2017.

The university was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 1975. It is the fortunate to be one of the fastest growing-comprehensive public University in Nigeria with an enviable record of academic stability. UNILORIN has fifteen Faculties, 1 College of Health Sciences, 2 Institutes and a Postgraduate School, with a student population of over 30,000 and a total staff strength of 4,000.

The University prides itself as one of the most stable Universities in Nigeria where academic activities are carried out in an atmosphere of peace, with students completing their courses as and when due without disruptions. This is a University where staff and students cooperate to ensure uninterrupted academic calendar in the interest of its stakeholders.

Responsibilities & Remuneration

• The University Librarian is a Principal Officer of the University, responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the administration of the University Library and co-ordination of all Library services in the University, its College, Faculties, Institutes and other teaching and research units.
• As an academic unit, the successful candidate will be expected to give both administrative and academic leadership.
• This and other conditions of service shall be as approved for University Librarians of Federal Universities by the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Governing Council of the University of Ilorin.
