FG Declares Monday 1st May Public Holiday

This is to notify the general public that the Nigeria Federal Government has declared Monday, 1st May, 2017 as public holiday to commemorate the 2017 Workers' Day celebration.

Lt Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.), Hon. Minister of Interior passed this declaration on behalf of the FG of Nigeria in a statement on Friday by the Director, Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido.

The Minister congratulated workers across Nigeria for their resilience, hard work and commitment to the administration of P. Muhammadu Buhari despite current challenges facing the country and economic instability.

Lt Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.) also urged the workers to re-educate themselves to the service of the nation and to remain productive for the growth and development of the country, especially now that the government is embarking on the implementation of the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan to ease the fluctuations in the nation.
