The School of Physical Sciences Presents her first Biennial Conference

“SPS Conference 2017”

SPSBAC-2017 is the first International Conference organized by the School of Physical Sciences Federal University of Technology Minna, Niger state, Nigeria. The conference is an interdisciplinary platform for the presentation of new ideas and research findings in the fields of Science and Technology. It will give opportunity to scholars and researchers in the academic communities and other establishments to meet, share and discuss together how science and technology can help reduce poverty and bring sustainable development worldwide.

About The University
The Federal University of Technology, Minna is a Federal Government owned University in Nigeria. It was established on 1st February, 1983. The objective for its establishment is to give effect to the Nation’s drive for the much-needed self-reliance in Science, Engineering and especially Technology. It is a specialized University of Technology.

Our Mission

About the School
The School was carved out from School of Natural and Applied Sciences on the 6th of November, 2014. The School houses six Departments namely; Chemistry, Geography, Geology, Mathematics, Physics and Statistics

Science Technology and Innovation (STI): The vision for poverty reduction and sustainable development

Sub- Themes:
• Scientific research, innovation and entrepreneurship for sustainable development
• Scientific research and technological development as tool for poverty reduction
• Scientific research for renewable energy in sustainable energy sufficiency
• Materials sciences, nanosciences and emerging technologies in sustainable development
• Gender issues in quality scientific research innovation and sustainable development
